‘Britain Stronger in Europe’ comes to Norwich

Kicking off the campaign to stay in the European Union, the 'Britain Stronger in Europe' battle bus made an appearance in Norwich. On board the bus was Liberal Democrat peer Dick Taverne, a high profile supporter of staying in the EU.

The UEA Liberal Democrat group turned out to support his visit and show their commitment to the cause of saving jobs, keeping prices low and protecting the environment - by choosing to stay in the EU. A valuable question and answer session was used by Lord Taverne to display his passion for the campaign, praising the vision and international cooperation that the European Union has brought to the world stage.

UEA Liberal Democrat James Anthony said "Dick is absolutely right to praise the positive aspects of the EU, and we must remain a part of this European project to ensure the single-market rules always work for Britain."

This visit came just a day after 'Britain Stronger in Europe' became the designated pro-remain campaign, and their visit to Norwich illustrated just how important the vote of our city is to ensure a safer future inside Europe. Local Liberal Democrats will be fighting this campaign every step of the way.
