Cllr Judith Lubbock & the Lib Dem Team: A Record of Action
Helping the community with grocery delivery
From the start of the first lockdown, Cllr Caroline Ackroyd initiated weekly delivery of groceries from Cringleford Stores to the residents of Daisy Hill Court.
Some residents there wanted to be able to order groceries and pay by card over the phone. Working with Jo from the shop and Fred, a resident, the scheme began to meet that need.
Judith said: "Although we started delivering during the Covid pandemic when people couldn't easily get out to the shops, we have continued helping out because it supports both the residents and the local shop."
Calling out the difficulty in contacting the council
Judith and the Liberal Democrats at City Hall continue to hear that it is difficult to contact the council - by phone and face to face. Judith has held the Labour council to account asking frequent questions on the issue and evidence of poor customer contact service.
Local resident Jean said: "I have contacted Judith on a number of occasions to help me when I have not had a response from the council. It just isn't good enough expecting me to hold on for over 40 minutes on the phone when trying to get in touch."
Pushing for the services that our community needs
Judith has opposed the Phase 3 development at the Bartram Mowers Site.
Judith was very concerned that there were no contributions from the developers towards GP surgeries, ambulances and hospitals. All of which are under pressure in this area, and provision of which could have formed part of the planning consent.
Supporting residents over Eaton Park parking charges
Judith and the Lib Dem team have worked hard to oppose the implementation of parking charges into Eaton Park.
Residents are worried about the impact of extra parking on their roads and the possibility of buses being blocked.
Judith said: "When the council reviews the effects of displaced parking, I will be ready with photos and statements from those affected. We must not let this Labour Council spread problems without solutions."
Working hard all year round for Eaton
A message from Judith:
“I want to continue working as a team with my fellow councillors Brian, Caroline and James, championing the area at both City and County Council levels and helping people with their individual problems. Eaton is a great place to live and I want to make sure it stays that way, along with improvements like reliable and cleaner buses, improved road safety, especially around schools, increased biodiversity in the green open spaces and parks and better housing.”
Judith first became a councillor in 1995 so this is her 28th year as your Eaton councillor. She and her husband have lived in Unthank Road for 33 years, bringing up 2 children, so knows the area and the people well. Judith, as part of the Eaton Liberal Democrat Team, will continue to work hard towards a fairer, more equal and caring community in Eaton. On May 4th use your vote to re-elect hard working councillor Judith Lubbock.
A vote for Judith Lubbock means a vote for Eaton’s local champion who will continue to deliver for our area.
