June City Council Report
Our councillors attended the full council meeting in June, the July meeting was cancelled due to lack of business. We used our question to the council to ask about displaced parking around Eaton Park to which we were told a review was ongoing, but we weren’t given a way for the public to contribute to this review. We’re worried about the possibility of a stitch-up.
We also voted to protect our rivers from environmental degradation and pollution through the “rights of nature” framework, which Labour opposed and voted down despite 16 hours-worth of raw sewage being pumped into a 2-mile stretch of our rare chalk stream River Wensum in 2019-20.
