Recent Cadent gas works
Cadent have been performing some maintenance in many areas around the city recently.
On the Avenues and George Borrow Road in University we received a complaint about the quality of cycle path replacement they put down after having to drill into one, which which we checked with the county council's network co-ordinator. We also had worries about the future health of trees located near drilling points in the area, which we investigated.
In Eaton the once removable bollards on the road that separates Sunningdale from Greenways have been cemented in, rendering them a barrier to emergency vehicles needing access should there be a problem at Eaton cross roads. This was reported by a resident for which we are grateful. The County Highways Authority have been contacted and made aware of how important these ‘removable’ bollards are and that their replacement occur as soon as is possible.
City Councillor for Eaton Judith Lubbock believes "perhaps Cadent took it upon themselves to cement replacement bollards into the ground not realising how important it is that they remain removable. Whoever is responsible they need replacing urgently. Get in touch if you have any other concerns or observations of the work they completed."
