Record turnout for Eaton Park Christmas parkrun 🎄🎁🎅

26 Dec 2019
Eaton parkrun Christmas Day

While many were at home, unwrapping presents and putting the sprouts on, over 1400 people descended on Eaton park to take part in the Christmas day parkrun.

1360 runners crossed the finish line after running, jogging or walking the 5k and were supported by the 49 volunteers who made the event happen.

Norwich parkrun (aka Eaton Park) is now 2nd only to Bushy Park (the home of the original parkrun) for record attendance.

Cllr James Wright, who ran, commented "It was fantastic to see so many people take part and my thanks to the volunteers who made it possible. Getting together with friends and running around Eaton Park was a lovely way to start Christmas Day."

More volunteers are always needed to make the run possible, with lots of different roles available. Details at www.parkrun.org.uk/norwich/volunteer
