The Eaton Lib Dem councillor team are backing local resident Kate Heley in her call for a crossing on Unthank Road near Judges Walk, and have met with her to look at options.
Kate said, "This is an area that is frequently crossed, especially by students crossing from the Eaton Park area to Newmarket road or by families going to Eaton Park. Putting a crossing there would make that area much safer as there is no nearby crossing, and encourage walking."
Cllr James Wright added, "I would like to thank Kate for getting in touch with this idea. We know that residents are concerned about the speed of traffic on Unthank Road due to those using it as cut through to avoid Newmarket Road. Having a crossing hear would benefit a huge number of people and promote safer walking."
