Value for Money Investigation Secured into St Stephens

An external agency is undergoing an independent investigation into the value-for-money gained when the County Council approved a £6.1m scheme to reorganise St Stephens Street, following calls from the Liberal Democrats.
County Councillor Brian Watkins had branded the scheme a waste, and City Councillor Judith Lubbock has questioned how the expensive new saw-tooth bus stops and street repaving was going to have any effect on motivating people out of cars and into the buses.
