We want to hear from Eaton Residents

Eaton Councillors want to hear your views on the following issues:-

Garden Waste

Garden Waste Bin mix up leaves many residents confused, frustrated and cross that they have paid for a brown bin collection which wasn’t collected.

A mistake by the council in the dates in the Garden Waste Recycling Calendar led to residents’ bins being put out according to that date in the calendar but not being collected. The council claim they alerted residents on social media on being alerted to the mistake and then sent out correct replacement calendars. However, as it was a busy time for Royal Mail with the delivery of postal votes at election time, many residents did not receive the replacement calendars until 10 days later

Eaton Councillors feel that the social media announcement was inadequate as most people didn’t see it and question why didn’t they put the correct date out on the Council’s website or contact city councillors and ask them to help get the correct information out? Should the council concede that their mistake has meant a missed collection that residents pay separately for?

Eaton Park charges

The impact of displaced parking on our residential streets.

Following on from Labour city council’s hugely unpopular imposition of parking charges into the park there has been a knock on effect to the surrounding streets - parking on grass verges and in some cases making visibility turning out onto a road dangerous, parking in unsuitable places on corners of roads etc. and anecdotal evidence of fewer people using the park. Eaton Councillors are keeping photo evidence of these issues to present to the council for ‘their review’ of the effects of parking charges.

Contact your local councillors with your observations on this parking issue.

Speed Table on Church Lane

County Councillor Brian Watkins is pleased to announce that part of his Members’ Highways Budget will be used towards a speed table on Church Lane, near Waitrose. Speeds on this stretch of the road are still high and many pedestrians cross the road here. The raised speed table should improve safety.
